As Bergapten Powder is added to a UV-B sunscreen formulation, it has been shown to enhance skin pigmentation compared to while the sunscreen is used alone when exposed to sunshine. When used together, the bergapten/UV-B sunscreen combination has the potential to be a useful product because it allows one to develop a tanning effect from the psoralen and ultraviolet A rays while also being protected from ultraviolet B rays-induced sunburn by the sunscreen included in the formulation.
Precautions: Because a normal Bergapten Powder may contain 0.3 percent or 0.3 g in 100 g, it is necessary to dilute it. The maximum strength is recommended to be 0.5 grammes per one hundred grammes of a carrier or one gramme for one hundred hundred grammes of the carrier.
