Furosemide USP, also known as a benzoic-sulfonamide-furan is a diuretic with quick onset and short duration that is applicable for edema and chronic renal insufficiency. It can treat edema associated with congestive heart failure, cliver irrhosis, and renal disease, including the nephrotic syndrome. It can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents in the treatment of hypertension.
