APPLICATION :- Is an 1-AR and 2-AR adrenergic receptor agonist.
DESCRIPTION :- Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride is a direct sympathomimetic agent. Is a nonselective adrenomimetic of 1A-AR and 2A-AR (1-AR and 2-AR adrenergic receptor) agonists. Since vascular beds widely express 1 receptors, the action of Oxymetazoline results in vasoconstriction due to its action on endothelial 2 receptors. Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride is an inhibitor of SR-2C and an activator of SR-1A, SR-1B, SR-1D and SR-2C.
